The progenitor systems of
supernovae are known to be white-dwarf binary systems or massive stars for
different kinds of supernovae. However, direct observational evidence is
very scarce, standing a major problem to solve to understand
the stellar evolution.
One of the direct observational tool to investigate the supernovae progenitor systems is shock-heated emission that occurs right after the supernovae explosion. The strength of the emission is weak and last only one day or so, making it difficult to detect such an emission in the supernovae light curve. To detect the shock-heated emission in the very early light curve of supernovae, we have been peforming "Intensive Monitoring Survey of Nearby Galaxies" using several small telescopes around the world. I overview the project, and present highlights of ours study including the detection of the early light curve in SN 2015F, a SN Ia. On contrary to what has been described in textbooks, we find that the companison star of the exploding white dwarf is not a red giant star, but more likely a MS or another white dwarf.
