Disk galaxies, especially barred-spiral galaxies, abound with rings and spirals in their nuclear regions. Nuclear rings exhibit star formation at a rate varying widely in the range of 0.1-10 Msun per year. Nuclear spirals are thought to channel gas inflows to supermassive black holes residing at the centers. Despite their astronomical importance, however, how these nuclear features form and evolve has remained mysterious. In this talk, I will report our recent efforts to understand the origin and physical properties of the nuclear structures, and the related star formation and gas accretion at galaxy centers.
